Air which passes through the valve also passes through a 60 by 60 mesh Type 304 stainless steel cloth. This cloth is secured to the MIL-DTL-5541, Type II, Class 3 conversion coated aluminum nut housing with silver-filled conductive epoxy to form a Faraday cage which protects the interior of the container from unwanted radio frequency and electromagnetic radiation. The 770075 Shielded Nut Assembly comes standard with a silicone base conductive gasket* that is filled with a silver-coated aluminum particles. The surface of the enclosure or case that this conductive gasket contacts when the Shielded Nut Assembly is installed must be conductive. Four grooves in the wall of the nut housing provide a convenient gripping point for a hook spanner wrench for tightening. Custom RFI\/EMI Shielded Nut Assemblies offering higher attenuation through the use of drilled holes or honeycombed aluminum are also available.
